Apr. 10th, 2003 07:21 pmSometime this afternoon, my IP (and the rest of the apartment building's, as near as I can tell) got switched again. I had hoped, when the first of the month passed without this happening, that it had been a one-time thing and I would not have to go down to my ISP's offices yet again to get put on the list of IPs they will allow to send email through their server. (The building is wired through Qwest, but I prefer to keep my old efn account.)
This, alone, would be a mere annoyance. But it seems that the whole complex is now hooked up to a single cable modem, rather than the DSL we had before... which means that the "high-speed Internet" I'm paying for each month has slowed to a dial-up crawl. And until the manager gets back from wherever he is, I have no way of knowing if this is a temporary outage, or the way things are going to be from now on.
We will keep you informed of further developments.
