I picked up a quick $100 on Thursday for making a house call for another attorney in the office, riding along with his client to notarize something off-site. (Though first we had to deal with a twitchy anti-theft system in the client's car.) A friend of mine encouraged me to enjoy the money, but also to spread a little of it around, in the interests of karma.

So when the Oregon Volunteer Fire Department called me up today, I went ahead and made a $25 pledge. That should suffice, right?

In other news, it's cooler today, and I might actually enjoy going out.

Now and then I amuse myself by trying to imagine how the shows that have recently been developed from concepts by Gene Roddenberry - Earth: Final Conflict, Andromeda, etc - might have been done back in the 60s, with that era's SFX, stage construction, costuming, script-writing, etc.

Hey, it's no weirder than re-imagining the Star Wars movies as the black-and-white matinee serials which inspired them.
