1. Is there a particular pet you would own, if pet ownership became feasible?
I find cats fascinating but also infuriating; dogs, friendly but sloppy and needy. I'm not really sure I trust myself to care for anything more high-maintenance than a hamster or a goldfish. Or a plant, for that matter.

2. Let's talk politics. Do you have a cause that, in some way great or small, you strive for? What is it?
Mm. Politics have become so emotional for me that it's hard to take a step back and articulate the cause(s) I believe in simply and rationally. Perhaps that indicates a failure in my thinking.
How's this for a statement of belief? "The government should keep the natural excesses of business in check, provide for the needs of the citizens who cannot provide for themselves, but otherwise let them live their own lives as they see fit."

3. Chocolate: white, milk, or dark?
Dark. Sometimes milk. "White" is not chocolate.

4. If you could travel to one destination freely, all expenses paid, where would it be and why?
Ireland, because it's beautiful country and it seems to be where I come from, in so many ways.

5. What is your favorite movie from the past five years?
Gah. That's a tough one, it really is. Toy Story 2? Galaxy Quest? I guess I'll have to go with Pirates of the Carribean, actually.
