Today, when I walked outside to go to lunch, the first thing I saw was a U-Haul truck with side-art of "AMERICA: United We Stand".

But right behind it was a Mini! And it was silver, with a black roof and trim!
So I guess there's balance, or something.

I don't get it. How does the Mini elicit irony?

It did not; rather, it lifted my spirits after the other thing.
Sorry, that could have been better constructed.

Oh. OK, yeah, that makes more sense.

Although the U-Haul thing's not ironic at all if viewed from the right perspective. After all, the United States as a nation is still considerably more united than... oh, say, Yugoslavia. Here in the States we just go on TV and call each other names. Pretty tame compared to the mortar rains of Sarajevo.

So, am I, as a MINI owner, helping to heal the wounds of the nation?
And does it matter if the MINI has political bumper stickers on it? ;)
