Tempted by the Dark Side
Nov. 17th, 2004 03:31 pmThis sort of relates to a previous post about idiots on message boards.
There's a roleplay thread on one board I read where the participants toss around amazing powers and sometimes tread close to dictating the reactions of others. (Wait, isn't that EVERY 'roleplay' thread?) Today I was greatly tempted to make a badly-spelled and inappropriately-capitalized post in which my own avatar appears out of the blue and pwnz everyone, with a mocking postscript that if you're going to flirt with "godmoding", why not go all the way?
Once again, I restrained myself. I shouldn't spoil their fun; they're not hurting anyone; I can simply not read that thread; and if I want to rail against stupidity, there are much more serious and egregious examples in the world around me.
But it would have felt so good to kick over their sand castle and laugh at them.
*sigh*
EDIT: And now LJ just ate my previous attempt to post this. Great.

Just enter as Goku.
