It's been almost twenty years since I last saw John Carpenter's Dark Star, and then I only caught the last third or so, at a con. I recently got to see it again and was struck by how much it sounded/felt like a certain more recent production.

Do you suppose the guys at Rooster Teeth have ever seen this movie, or is this just coincidence?

That's not actually on another topic at all.

Bah, I should have been more clear.
But yeah, I was talking about Red vs. Blue.
Nor was I trying to imply any plagiarism, conscious or otherwise.

The extent of my knowledge of Red vs. Blue is:
it involves Halo, and it's funny.

Lucky you, I have recently purchased the first two seasons on DVD. Perhaps
we should schedule a movie night sometime?

If you only saw the last 1/3 of Dark Star, you were doing it right. It's one of my dad's favorite movies, so I think I've seen it waaaay too many times. The ending is the best part though.

man, that movie is 30 years old! Where did the time go?
