bruceb's journal made me imagine a civilization trying to rebuild after all information has become freely editable and thus unreliable.
"Take the Constitution, for example. We're pretty sure that the Founding Fathers didn't intend to call anyone a 'fag', but beyond that, hardly anyone remembers the original content. There are a few tedious experts who claim they do, of course, but everyone knows You Can't Trust Experts. So we've just got to sift through it by hand, toss out the obviously ridiculous parts - like that three-fifths of a person thing - and decide which of the hundreds of amendments are authentic or at least worth keeping."
