Wishlist, get!
Dec. 25th, 2006 01:42 pmMerry Christmas!
I was fortunate to get the last three items on my Amazon wishlist (guess I need to put more on, huh?), all DVDs from the first half of the 80s:
And I got to spend time with my family - my mother, father, brother (and the other one soon), niece and nephew. Best wishes also to my friends, local and online. May your day be merry and bright.
(If anyone should wonder, the cold is gone except for an intermittent and annoyingly persistent cough.)
I was fortunate to get the last three items on my Amazon wishlist (guess I need to put more on, huh?), all DVDs from the first half of the 80s:
- A Christmas Carol (the 1984 TV production with George C. Scott; the definitive version from my youth, though I'm also fond of the musical with Albert Finney - "I like life, life likes me...")
- Dungeons and Dragons (the Saturday morning cartoon series, so much better than the movie)
- Hawk the Slayer (this, on the other hand, was almost exactly as bad as the D&D movie, and quite amusing on that basis - but when I first saw it on TV, I was a young gamer and didn't know any better. A "classic" of the same post-Star Wars fantasy boomlet that brought us Conan and Excalibur, with Jack Palance as the villain.)
