History repeats itself
Feb. 15th, 2007 07:55 amAfter hearing of the latest example of Kevin Sorbo behaving like a whiny prima donna and remembering how Andromeda, initially a somewhat promising show like many Roddenberry-created series, went rapidly downhill after Sorbo and others started dumbing it down (also like many Roddenberry-created series), I find myself wondering how things might have gone if Gene had lived long enough to produce the show himself. I think some conversations on the set might have been oddly familiar:
"Gene, I just read today's script and Ham has more lines than me, AGAIN! And he gets more fan-mail! What's up with that?"
"Well Bill, er Kevin, it's like this. One, he's sexier. Two, he can act."
"But I'm the STAR!"
"Look, I gotta run. We'll talk about you and Leonard--"
"Hamilton."
"Right, you and Hamilton when I get back from wardrobe. I'm, heh, personally supervising the fitting of some actresses young enough to be my daughters. If I had daughters. Which I don't, because Majel is a frigid bitch."
"...?"
