Too much imagination
Mar. 1st, 2007 08:48 amThis morning, I dreamed of seeing the sun flare and flicker through an overcast, like lightning, and knowing that the nova shock was coming in eight minutes.
(How did I see that part right away, with the rest following? It's dream-logic, man.)
I've had even weirder thoughts lately - stuff like being attacked by alien things in the bathroom, coming up through the plumbing, or finding something already attached in the shower (think Puppet Masters or Londo's keeper). It was after the latter, the other day, that I wryly suggested to myself that if I'm going to obsess, I should try to think about things that have already been observed, like asteroid impacts. And now, this morning... serves me right, I guess.
What is it that trips my borderline Asperger's like this? I mean, I've sat down and worked out how I would plead for my life (or at least a merciful death) from Baba Yaga, ferchrissakes. Normal people don't do stuff like that.

Date: 2007-03-02 01:52 pm (UTC)It's not tripping your Aspergers - it's part and parcel of it. Just grin and realize that you're prepared for whatever comes at you. This is a GOOD thing. (Oh, and DH also has a plan for Baba Yaga!) [grin]

Except there's plenty of ordinary things I'm not prepared for, IMO - just wild/impossible "edge cases."
