Illogical - please explain

Why do I keep getting auto insurance junk mail, when I have never owned an car or even had a valid driver's license?

Indeed it is. The previous occupant of this house, who died three years ago, still occasionally receives pre-approved credit card flyers.

For exactly the same reason that I get offers to refinance my mortage... even though I now rent.

Also, Brenna was getting offers of life insurance. I should have perhaps taken them up on them. As ghoulash as that sounds.

Heh. No.
That's an oblique reference to the fact that I do not have a DL, merely the ID-card-only variant... because I never learned to drive. (Arcade games do not count.) Things were tight for my family back when I turned 16, and the additional cost of insurance for a young driver would have been a burden, so I just let it go. At some point my younger brothers learned, but I've never gotten around to it.

Sometimes I think I should, just to have the option, but my actual need is minimal - I live in an environmentally-friendly city with lots of bike trails that sits on a floodplain. Getting around town on a bicycle is usually quite feasible, if slower and exposed to the weather. The only reason it's even an issue now is that some of the job ads I see list it as a requirement - oh well.
