Bad news, good news, and poetry

A closer review of my finances today revealed that my previous target, a one-bedroom apartment, was not going to happen. I'm back to looking at quads. Oh, well - it was nice having a living room while it lasted (more space to cover with clutter, if nothing else).

Once I adjusted my expectations, I soon found that my old complex (which I moved out of two years ago to take care of my father) has openings. (Not the same unit, but you can't have everything.) I went by to have a look and am pleased. The price is right, the neighborhood is familiar, the place is wired for internet now, and one of the units I saw was quite decent. And of course, the whole thing has a quaint symmetry - I did my bit as a Good Son, and now I can pick up right where I left off.

So I'll be filling out the application and, with a little luck (I can't imagine them denying me; I was a tenant there for over six years), I'll soon be ready to start moving. Of course, a big part of that moving will be figuring out what not to take with me and/or what won't fit into a quad (again).
