It seems to me that "Blink" is probably scarier in England, where you can't swing a cricket bat without hitting aWeeping Angel bit of old statuary. Not so much on this side of the pond. (Unless you live near a cemetery, maybe. Or in Gotham City.)

Date: 2008-01-29 07:13 pm (UTC)And creepy though they are, they don't even kill people, merely displace them, which makes them rather weak as Who villains go. I mean, it would suck to have to live in the 40s, but I think I could manage, especially once I patent velcro. The main thing would be to leave messages for friends and family so they aren't left wondering forever about my disappearance.
EDIT: Looks like I have to amend that. I've been running the scenario in my mind (as I'm wont to do) for much of the morning, and I finally got to the point of thinking about actually writing those letters, to loved ones I could guess I wouldn't live to see again, never see a niece grow up... and the weight of that imagined loss hit me so hard that I had to get up from my desk and go into the bathroom for a quick cry. So, maybe not so "weak" after all.
