Thought of the day:

It's not just that I'm getting older. I've always been too much of a nostalgic, stability-craving, politically moderate(*), use-it-until-it-wears-out homebody, retrogamer, control freak and Old Fan™ to be a "proper" neophile geek - the guy who's got to have the fastest computer, the newest game, the hippest music, the latest episode of the cool new show grabbed right off the satellite feed, the fansubbed anime everyone'll be talking about soon...

And I'm okay with that. Though it does mean it might come down to a coin flip between Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff.

(* for Eugene, mind you, which would make me a flaming liberal just about any other place except Massachusetts.)

It's always the Hobbits that think they're never going to go anywhere or do anything exciting in life and happy in that fact that find themselves trying to fling a ring into Mt. Doom.

But they give old hobbits something to tell all the young hobbits to make them afraid to leave the Shire.
