One week later, my network is still only (yeah, I know, "only") providing web and email and very limited IM. I called my landlord. He said that he had gone in and tweaked some things, and might do more, but not tonight. Whatever he did, it hasn't fixed any of the programs I provided ports for.

He hinted that I might want to consider other network providers. If it comes to that, I will be considering other lodging providers - my lease is up at the end of the month, and I was already planning to switch to month-to-month rather than signing another year-long, for maximum flexibility.

Of course, that'll be the least of my problems if I don't get a new job when this one goes away at the end of the month.

GNNNNNNNG

I don't want to throw more money I don't have to spare at getting DSL for a place I might not have in a month. I don't understand the ins and outs of proxy servers and they all seem to want money too. I just want the net I have now to work. I want something in my life to fucking work like it's supposed to for a change.
