I've always been glad I was born in a zero year (1970), just because it makes calculating my age in any subsequent year dead simple.

Similarly, I like being so ethnically "pure" - not because it makes me any better than anyone else, but because with family names like Kelly, Stafford, MacDonald and St. Clair (or Sinclair), figuring out what part of the world my ancestors came from is easy. (As if the skin that freckles on cloudy days and burns on hot ones wasn't enough of a clue.)

Think of how lucky the people born on January 1, 2000 are.

Especially coming from the edge of a continent (yes, I know it's an island, not continental). I'm mixed northern European, but even there you take a look at the scanty evidence, and the German ancestors may have French ancestors (last name of Gaul, one diagram of the family tree has increasingly French sounding names as you go back), and the English may be coming from France back when too... although technically I'm not a bit French.

1975 is pretty easy to calculate from to... just add a quarter century.
