The latest PDF issue of PYRAMID's new format, to which my subscription to the online weekly version was converted when that was shut down, was delivered/downloaded today. I will not be renewing. While the content of the PDFs has been interesting, I can't really justify continuing to pay for it, especially in my present circumstances.

A check of my account info shows that I've been subscribed for just under a decade (it would have been next October). But as I informed SJG in the requested "tell us why" email, in a very real sense the Pyramid to which I subscribed no longer exists.

I miss the discussion groups. (Tetrahedron is a valiant attempt to keep things going, but seems to lack critical mass.)
I miss the weekly format and regular columns.
I miss John Kovalic, Stephen Marsh, Scott Haring, and Ken Hite, as well as many familiar but hazily remembered posters on the boards.
I really miss John M. Ford.

Ah well. Ten years is a good run - forever in internet time, and pretty long in gaming too.

PYRAMID is dead; long live PYRAMID.

2nded.

While I was only an frequent frequenter(sp?) of the forums, I wish they had collected John M. Ford's signatures.

I'd pay for that.

I won't be renewing either. It's interesting, but there's other things I want to spend my money on.

I agree. I was with the old Pyramid for about the same length of time, but I don't think I'll be renewing. I'll still write for them, but I just don't get $8 worth of enjoyment & utility out of every issue.

Neat article, by the way.
