Well, foo.
Aug. 6th, 2004 02:13 amYou know your computer lacks sufficient wang to run City of Heroes when it starts to grind to a halt in the single-player tutorial, with just a few NPCs running around. (Sure, I could probably crank the settings down until I'm looking at a murky blur, but then what's the point?)
I guess it was a good thing, sort of, that they were out of stock on Monday. (Far better to find this out with a borrowed copy than after spending $50.) Paragon City will have to wait until I pop for a better video card.
And for those who got to see me have another sort of memory failure at tea today: I found the post I was trying to recall. Apparently Dave Seville's classic "My Friend the Witch Doctor" was covered by Devo for the Rugrats movie. (That's just Wrong, IMO.)

Date: 2004-08-06 07:28 am (UTC)BTW, Kelly, the Radeon 9600Pro has more than sufficient wang to play City of Heroes. And the 9600 series run cooler and on less power than the 9800 series (which need to be patched to the system power supply). The 9600Pro is the sweet spot for good gaming video on an under $200 budget. The 9600SE is junk. The 9600XT is a nicer version of the 9600Pro, but it costs a little more.
