The only way this week could have ended

This was the second time I've had to ride home from the LAN on a flat back tire. (At least the weather was decent.) It's the first time I knew about the problem before I left, but I hoped that the leak might be slow and I might be able to pump it back up long enough to get home. It held together on the ride out but was, of course, completely flat when I reclaimed it at midnight. I spent about half an hour trying vainly to patch it and get it to hold pressure (the leak was just too close to the stem, and might have included it), and then about an hour riding home.

very tempted to just spend all of tomorrow curled up in a ball. also thinking maybe I should have gone with my first instinct this morning, and just stayed home.
