cmdr_zoomThe Cabin in the Woods was a nicely-meta horror movie that didn't do so well at the box office. Some believe that this is because of the backhanded "Take That" at horror fans (or maybe, like me, people are just getting tired of Joss Whedon). Personally, as someone who doesn't consider himself a fan of that genre nor of voyeur TV1, I'd go even further:
1 It may be (mostly) unscripted and improvisational, but it's still so manipulatively cast, edited, etc etc that despite the label it claims, it has f***-all to do with "reality."
[CHARACTER on monitor turns to camera] Damn you. You make this happen. You make us suffer and die horribly, for what... your entertainment? God damn you. |
