This morning's dream
Oct. 5th, 2012 08:38 amOpening and unpacking the box of a SPACE:1999 RPG, including a tactical "boardgame" (cardboard counters and paper maps, though of course the Eagles got proper miniatures) for playing out scenarios from the series as well as creating new ones/handling PC combats. Set in the year 11 or 12 (which I first assumed to start counting from Breakaway, which would put it roughly in the present, though I now think it might be from Capture; see next), Luna has settled into orbit around another body, becoming a proper Moon again. The people of Alpha, who may well be the last survivors of the human race (or at least the only ones in the vicinity), must deal with unknown dangers as well as internal crises. The tone, from what I recall of the background and adventure material, was mostly serious - a mix of 1999 with new BSG, and maybe just a hint of original BSG (that 70s TV SF wackiness shining through).
