cmdr_zoomYes! I did it! I have the first post! Hours of obsessively refreshing the site have paid off in this moment of glory. I must have beaten that other guy to the "Post" button by almost a whole second. Go me!
Now this thread is mine. I’ve marked it, like with my pee or something. My name will appear at the very top of it forever. Days, weeks, maybe even whole months from now (if someone searches for it after it’s been pushed down to page 23), people will see this thread and know that I was here first. I am immortal!
(And to think that last week, someone said my life was petty and meaningless. I sure showed them. I bet they’ve never gotten first post!)
Now that I’ve got the top spot, the rest of you - you losers who lost because you were typing long posts with actual content - can go ahead. I want to see lots of posts on my thread. I want it to have an on-fire icon. I want it to be moderated up. The bigger it gets, the cooler I look for starting it and the longer my name stays on the front page.
Yessir, this is what separates Man from animals trained to peck at Skinner boxes: the ability to type "FIRST POST!"

I'm jealous because, you see, with this little blathering, you indeed did become the conjunction between my two postings which now leaves me in the bottom position.
