According to [livejournal.com profile] z_gryphon:

"If you grew up in the 1980s, you were a John Cusack fan. You had no choice."

It's true.

Ummm... actually, I was more of a Michael J. Fox/Andrew McCarthy type fan. I fly in the face of tradition! Tally-ho!

*Jeepers, should I be in bed or what? I'm arriving at that silly stage. Must slink to bed now.... umph*

And as I said later on in that thread, I grew up in the '80s, and I hadn't even heard of John Cusack until I got to college. :-)

Sad to admit it, but i wasn't into him in the '80s. I loved _Gross Pointe Blank_, though, so Skyemage made me watch his old movies.

Until I read this, I was going to say, John Cusak? Who's John Cusak? So I guess I can't be a fan, if I don't know who he is. I recognize Grosse Point blank, though I still haven't seen it.

High school in the 80s, but to the dismay of most of my friends, (then and now) I didn't "do" movies...or TV, really, with the exception of Remington Steele. Now Pierce Brosnan ROCKS! (Who had time, with 40 hours of ballet rehearsals a week over and above school...?)

Of course, I also didn't "do" rock music until 1984 when I fell in with the International Club my senior year (no ballet by then). So rock for me, includes the Police, Adam Ant, and Jean-Jacques Goldman... LOL

Curious, I went and looked up his filmography.
of the 1980s films, I SAW 16 candles. Under duress I might add. I HEARD about Stand by Me (Who didn't?)

In 1990, I saw the Road to Wellville... fun treatment of Dr. Kellogg.

After that... I recognized Gross Pointe Blank.

So no. It's not true. Not a fan. Never heard of most of his movies. Or did I "grow up" in the 70s? I was, after all, entering High School in 1980.

~Romi, the confused.
