Got caught by surprise by one of roommate's 30-45 minute showers this morning. (This is not a regular, predictable thing. If it WAS, I could plan around it.) Called in to work to let them know I'd be in as soon as I could (showing up in my condition of unwashed was, IMO, not an option). Go out into the hall once and consider asking the guy to hurry up, but the water is running very loud. Five minutes later, decide "heck with it" and ask loudly through the door if he could hurry up.

He gets out a few minutes later and lays into ME - I don't have to raise my voice, I should ask politely, he pays rent here and can shower whenever he likes, etc. So at the moment when I really should be taking my five-minute shower and rushing off to work, late, I have to swallow my own incredible frustration and try to be diplomatic and soothing.

At least MY boss hasn't yelled at ME for being a half hour late, as I was expecting. Yet. I'm just sitting here stewing over it and trying to get work done. After I post this. Honest.

No, it's the other fellow. Half hour showers are just part of his fastidiousness (and prickliness when confronted).

what a surprise, you're much more diplomatic than me, though you do have your nerve, wanting to use the shower, what the hell's wrong with you? You act like you have a job or something.
