1: I feel completely comfortable excluding obnoxious people, and when challanged happily tell them why to their face. But I'm an evil bastard. This is one of those areas where lacking a conscience is a help.

2: I believe critism is a complement. My taking the time to disagree etc. shows that I care enough about you and what you say to respond. There are polite ways of doing this and rude ways of doing this. There is a big difference between liking someone for who they are and agreeing with every single thing they do or say. I lose patience with GSF2 carriers quickly.

3: The the GSF3 carriers, I say, "Grow up. This isn't grade school.

4: I admit, I like exposing my friends to each other, after all, they are cool and interesting enough to be my friends, but if they don't like each other no big deal.

5: GSF5 really annoys me. Sometimes it's fun if everyone comes; sometimes small groups are better. Sometimes you want some alone time with one or two people. Skyemage and I having date night is not an implied snub to anybody.

So the question is, do I count as a YFYP asshole? or am I just lacking geek social tendancies?

I don't think you're an asshole. Sometimes I do wonder how you got into these circles, because your thought processes are (at times) so alien to me.

I've got geek interests and had a rather extreme geeky childhood, so I count, but I learned my social habits in the outside world and did just fine in "normal" society. I managed to simultaneously have the geek ostracism experience and the extremely popular teen experience simultenously starting when I was fifteen. I guess this makes me bi-cultural.

Wow. That article eerily spot on, in places.

Thanks for the link.

I've seen a lot of these over the years, and am a recovering #1 myself, but I've reached the threshold of tolerance for Capt. BO.

If the BO is all that offends, I'm more likely to find ways to encourage better hygeine, than cut them cold.

I try to use my girl geek powers only for good.
