Phone, bike update

Walked the bike over this morning and had them put a new tube and tire on the back (the old tire was getting rather bald). Slack day at work with just one thing to work on, and then a birthday party for my boss.

At home, discovered that my phone works fine in the manager's apartment upstairs, but none - including the spare I borrowed from work - get dial tone in my room. Ah ha, I say, and borrow kireishojo's phone to leave a ticket with Qwest's repair people. (I tried to do it online first, but qwest.com informed me that the self-service tool was not available in my area and kicked me to a list of phone lines. Tsk tsk.) With luck, service may be restored by this time tomorrow.

It's still hot, though. :p

It's aweful here, and the pollen counts through the roof. Skyemage was resisting putting the airconditioner in since we're moving in a month, but the computer kept seizing up and he couldn't sleep through all my coughing and weezing. The airconditioner doesn't make it cold in here, but it makes the whole house bearable and filters some of the pollen.

Hope your phone thing works out soon.

I picked up the phone this morning, just to see, and it seemed okay. Made a call with it, etc. Soon afterward, a tech knocked on my door and explained that there might have been some loose wiring from recent work.

It's much nicer here today, cool and overcast, though I hear that it might have started to burn off. We'll see.
